Pakistan celebrates Youm-e-Takbeer with national fervour and passion.

This year, “Na Jhuky thay na Jhuken gay” is the theme of the day.

Pakistan became the seventh nuclear power in the world and the first in the Muslim world when it tested nuclear weapons at Chaghai in Balochistan on May 28, 1998.

This was in response to India’s nuclear bomb tests at Pokhran in the Indian state of Rajasthan on May 11th and 13th of the same year.

Pakistan’s defense became unbeatable after the tests went well.

At the time, Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif was the prime minister of Pakistan.

He was in charge when nuclear tests were done, even though super powers asked him not to do so.

In the morning, special prayers were said for the progress and success of Pakistan, the supremacy of the constitution, and the end of terrorism.

In honor of this day, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has also launched a national song.

Shehbaz Sharif already said that the end of 24 years of nuclear tests would be celebrated for ten days.
