Elections will be conducted in August 2023, according to Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.
At a press conference in Islamabad, Marriyum urged Imran Khan to remain at home and rest till the August 2023 elections.
Marriyum said that the PTI administration has engaged in vengeance politics for four years, adding that Imran Khan did not say the things he did today during his four-year tenure.
Marriyum presented the issue of how the public will remember the civil disobedience committed by PTI.
Marriyum criticised the PTI leadership, stating, “Even if you prepare for a century, the public would not support you.”
Marriyum took a jab at PTI Chairman Imran Khan, stating that he is responsible for attacks on Parliament and Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV), and asking why he didn’t decide the Model Town matter while he was prime minister for four years.
Marriyum questioned the PTI leadership as to why the public would vote for a party that has failed to keep even a single promise, adding that the masses have rejected the PTI.
Marriyum said that, in accordance with the plan, PTI workers have hurt police officers, adding that, if the PTI’s demonstration was peaceful, then it is unclear how the guns have been amassed.
Marriyum said that lighting fire to trees and proclaiming the ‘Bloody March’ violates democratic rights, adding that if the PTI returns to the streets with guns and sticks, then more severe measures would be implemented.
Marriyum said that if they (PTI) began the social media campaign against the officers, they must face the repercussions, and she denounced the onslaught on the media and journalists during the Long March.
The Minister of Information said that Imran Khan poses a danger to the Supreme Court.
Marriyum criticized the PTI Chairman and said that he (Imran Khan) had promised to provide the possibility for residents to get 10 million jobs and to construct 5 million homes, but PTI had not maintained its word.
