Govt sets two-day deadline to deposit Hajj dues

Can Pakistani women perform Hajj without mehram?

The Federal Ministry for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has set a two-day deadline — Thursday and Friday — for intending Hajj pilgrims to submit dues to various banks across the country.

The ministry clarified that those who did not deposit the payment by the deadline would have their Hajj applications canceled.

Along with the Hajj package payment, a passport and coronavirus vaccination certificate have been required.

According to the Hajj Package 2022, pilgrims from the north, including Lahore, must pay Rs800,383 including the cost of the sacrificial animal, and Rs755,017 without the cost of the sacrificial animal.

The ministry has clarified that additional costs will be borne by pilgrims if the Saudi government raises the cost of the current Hajj season; however, if the expenditure is less than estimated, the remaining amount will be returned to Hajis.
