Containers placed on GT Road and motorways to prevent workers and supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from attending the party’s rally in Islamabad have been removed on Thursday.
Containers from the Babu Sabu Interchange in Lahore have been removed, and the road has reopened to public traffic, according to traffic police.
Containers that had been placed on Ravi Bridge and Batti Chowk in Lahore to prevent PTI marchers from passing through have also been removed, and the roads are now open for traffic.
Similarly, the highway police have removed all of the barriers that had been placed at various points.
It is worth noting that people in various cities faced difficulties as a result of roadblocks caused by containers, and news of PTI workers and police clashing in various districts of Punjab was also reported.
Police also raided the homes of prominent PTI leaders and supporters in Punjab, preventing them from traveling to the federal capital to attend the party’s rally.
