Won’t compromise on state’s writ: PM Shahbaz

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared that there will be no compromise in establishing the state’s writ and that anyone disrupting the law and order situation will face severe consequences.

Shehbaz Sharif said any illegal move will be dealt with and there will be no compromise on the state’s writ while chairing a meeting of the political committee in Islamabad on Tuesday with a focus on the PTI’s march and protest. “All public routes will remain open,” he added.

The prime minister told the meeting that such tactics amounted to economic sabotage. “The law will take its course in dealing with any type of violence or provocation,” he insisted.

The prime minister directed the relevant authorities to ensure public safety and security. “Sit-in protests like this further wreak havoc on the economy and threaten the daily wager’s livelihood,” he said.

The meeting also decided to follow the court’s decisions on the sit-in in letter and spirit.
