Rana Tanveer Hussain, a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) member of the National Assembly (MNA), resigned as chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Friday.
On Saturday, the government had decided to name Noor Alam Khan, a dissident Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) MNA, as the new committee chairman.
According to the channel’s sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, NA Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, PTI’s Amir Dogar, Riaz Fatyana, and Noor were all kicked out of the NA body, while Noor was brought in.
The day after tomorrow, MNA Noor will take over his office (Monday).
In another change, the PTI has refused to take part in making a parliamentary committee that will write the electoral reforms.
Sources told 24News that even though the party had senators, it had refused to give the chairman of the committee the names of those senators.
On the other hand, the government has decided to form the organization without the PTI.
The committee should be put together by the NA speaker by the end of next week.
