On Friday, the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) requested an increase of Rs4.5 per unit from the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).
If approved, consumers will bear an additional burden of Rs59.45 billion.
On May 31, NEPRA will consider the petition for the hearing.
