Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz took strict notice of the leakage of papers for exams being held by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Rawalpindi, on Friday.
Dr Khalid Mehmood, chairman of the Rawalpindi Board, and Shahenshah Babar Khan, controller of examinations, were both suspended by the chief minister.
Shahenshah Babar Khan was suspended under the Peda Act for failure to perform his duties.
Assistant Professor Nasir Mehmood Awan of Government Gordon College, Rawalpindi, has been appointed as the controller of examinations.
Rawalpindi Commissioner Noorul Amin Mengal has been appointed as chairman of the Rawalpindi Board.
A special committee has been formed to investigate the matter on the orders of Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz.
The committee will be convened by Prof Dr Muhammad Shafiq, Director of External Linkages at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore.
The committee will be joined by Director Admin DPI Colleges Sahibzada Faisal Khurshid and a cybercrime expert from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The committee will investigate the reasons for the leakage of the documents. It will also identify those who are at fault.
The committee will also make recommendations to prevent future leaks of documents, and it will submit a report to the chief minister within seven days.
