An accountability court in Islamabad heard the assets beyond means reference against the former finance minister and senior PML-N leader Ishaq Dar on Wednesday and issued permanent arrest warrants for him.
Afzal Qureshi, the prosecutor for the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), and the co-attorneys accused appeared before the court.
The accountability court conditioned the reference proceedings on the arrest of Ishaq Dar while hearing the case.
The court stated, “The proceedings of the reference cannot proceed until Ishaq Dar is arrested and brought before the court,” and adjourned the hearing of the reference until Ishaq Dar’s arrest.
Judge Muhammad Bashir of the Accountability Court heard the reference.
The court also conditioned its decision on the bail applications of the co-defendants on Ishaq Dar’s arrest.
The co-accused had challenged the reference a second time under the NAB Amendment Ordinance.
