LAHORE: Despite the passage of two days since the Karachi train accident, railway operations have yet to return to normal.
Train operations between Lahore and Karachi have been disrupted for several hours, with trains departing six to seven hours late.
Many passengers have received ticket refunds as a result of improper operations, resulting in losses for Pakistan Railways.
On Friday, the engine and three passenger bogies of the Rehman Baba Express derailed at the meeting station near Jhimpir in the Thatta district.
However, no passengers were hurt in the accident. Passengers were being transported by train from Peshawar to Karachi. The cause of the derailment remains unknown.
According to railway officials, the accident caused train delays. They also revealed that the 34 Down Business Express from Lahore to Karachi left seven hours later than scheduled.
Similarly, the 42 Down Karakoram Express, which traveled from Lahore to Faisalabad, left after six hours.
Furthermore, the Shah Hussain Express left at 11 p.m., a four-hour delay.
Furthermore, the departure of the Karachi Express was delayed by several hours.
According to the railway administration, practical steps are being taken to get the trains to their destinations as soon as possible.
