Commenting on the police action against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) workers in Sialkot last night, Punjab Assembly (PA) Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said on Saturday that the rising popularity of PTI Chairman Imran Khan among the people made a “nascent” Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz nervous.
He said that the PTI would hold a public meeting in the city no matter what because it was their right to do so. “PTI leader Usman Dar and the other organizers should be thankful to Hamza that they didn’t have to spend a dime on the rally because the police action brought attention to it,” he said.
The PA speaker said that the Sharif family does the exact opposite of what they say they believe in, even though they say they believe in democratic values.
