Fewer people to perform Hajj due to incraese in costs

On Friday, this year fewer applications for Hajj, an annual religious obligation, have been received due to a significant increase in costs, and the Ministry of Religious Affairs has stated that the deadline, which expires today, will not be extended.

In the last four days, banks have received a total of 43, 554 applications against the quota of 81, 132 pilgrims allocated for the year 2022.

Hajj at government expense is anticipated to cost between Rs0.750 million and Rs1 million, or more, while private Hajj is anticipated to cost more than Rs1.2 million.

This year, 40% of pilgrims will perform Hajj at government expense, while 60% will do so independently.

The ministry of religious affairs has instructed applicants to verify their documents through its website.

In addition, they were instructed to include a copy of their coronavirus vaccination certificate with their applications.

In addition, the ministry has requested that they include their passports, health certificates, three photographs, and Rs50,000 along with their applications.
