PM, PML-N leaders extend stay in London

The top leaders of the PML-N, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, have decided to extend their stay in London in order to continue consulting with party supremo Nawaz Sharif about the current political situation in Pakistan.

According to sources cited on Friday, the PML-N members of the federal cabinet who are currently on a yatra to London have decided to extend their stay for an additional 30 hours.

Earlier, it was decided that all other PML-N members would return home today, while Shehbaz Sharif would remain in London for an additional day to consult with his older sibling.

Today, however, sources indicate that the visiting PML-N leaders will consult with Nawaz Sharif again.

Thursday in London, the PML-N leaders Ahsan Iqbal, Maryam Aurangzeb, Rana Sanaullah, Ata Tarar, and Abid Sher Ali held a press conference following the party’s kitchen cabinet meeting.

They informed the media that during the consultation meeting, it was decided to improve the economy and to return Mian Sahib to Pakistan.

They reported that Mian Nawaz Sharif was consulted on a variety of issues and that the PML-N would not make the decision regarding the next general election alone. They stated that allies would be consulted regarding the upcoming elections.

Regarding the right to vote for Pakistanis living abroad, they stated they were working on it. They stated that those who violated the Pakistani constitution would be punished according to the law.

It was reported that Imran Khan intended to assemble a crowd in Islamabad for the purpose of creating chaos, but the government would not permit anyone to spread anarchy in the country.

The PML-N leaders remained tight-lipped about the major decisions made at Thursday’s high-level meeting with Nawaz Sharif, although Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah later praised the military’s decision to stay out of politics.
