Punjab’s Auqaf Department has demoted former Data Darbar khateeb Mufti Muhammad Ramzan Sialvi after a departmental inquiry found allegations of financial misconduct, embezzlement and forgery against him to be proven. Punjab Auqaf Department Demotes Former Data Darbar Khateeb After Inquiry
According to an Auqaf Department spokesperson, the inquiry was conducted under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act. The department has also ordered the recovery of more than Rs. 2.658 million from Sialvi.
Sialvi’s Grade Reduced for Five Years
As part of the disciplinary action, Sialvi’s service grade has been reduced from BS-19 to BS-18 for five years.
During the same period, he will not be eligible for postings in Lahore or its surrounding areas, according to the department.
The Auqaf Department has also ordered his appointment as a zonal khateeb in Dera Ghazi Khan, removing him from his previous position at the Data Darbar shrine in Lahore.

Restrictions on Future Shrine Postings
The department has further barred Sialvi from receiving future postings at any major shrine or mosque.
The spokesperson did not specify how long this restriction would remain in effect.
The disciplinary measures were announced after the completion of the departmental inquiry into the allegations against the former Data Darbar khateeb.
Recovery Ordered After Inquiry

However, the department’s statement did not clarify whether the funds allegedly involved in the financial misconduct were taken from donations or another source.
The latest action follows the formal conclusion of the departmental proceedings and includes both a reduction in rank and restrictions on Sialvi’s future postings within the Auqaf Department.
