The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has recommended nine Armed Forces officers for induction into Pakistan’s civil services through the CSS Competitive Examination 2025, under the special quota reserved for military officers.
The recommendations were announced in an FPSC press release issued on August 25, 2026, following the completion of psychological assessments and viva voce examinations.
The selected officers belong to the Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy and have been allocated positions in three major occupational groups — the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) and Foreign Service of Pakistan (FSP).
Five officers allocated to PAS
According to the FPSC, five of the nine recommended Armed Forces officers have been allocated to the Pakistan Administrative Service, one of the country’s key civil service groups.
The PAS allocations are:
- Capt. Syed Shehryar Khan — Pakistan Army — PAS
- Capt. Usama Mujtaba — Pakistan Army — PAS
- Capt. Haider Ali — Pakistan Army — PAS
- Flt. Lt. Usamah Ahmad — Pakistan Air Force — PAS
- Lt. Ayaz Hussain — Pakistan Navy — PAS
The allocation will enable the selected officers to transition from military service into Pakistan’s civilian administrative structure, subject to the applicable appointment and training procedures.
Two officers allocated to PSP
Two Army officers have been recommended for the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP):
- Capt. Syed Aique Ur Rahman — Pakistan Army — PSP
- Capt. Syed Taimoor Ali — Pakistan Army — PSP
The PSP is responsible for providing senior police leadership through Pakistan’s federal civil service structure, with officers serving in various policing and administrative roles.
Two officers selected for Foreign Service
The FPSC has also allocated two officers to the Foreign Service of Pakistan (FSP):
- Flt. Lt. Ash Ali Masood — Pakistan Air Force — FSP
- Capt. Sheraz Ahmed — Pakistan Army — FSP
The Foreign Service manages Pakistan’s diplomatic representation and includes assignments at Pakistani missions abroad and within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Armed Forces officers selected under special CSS quota
The CSS examination system provides a separate selection route for eligible Armed Forces officers seeking induction into Pakistan’s civil services.
Under the special quota, candidates undergo the required psychological assessment and viva voce before the FPSC makes its recommendations for allocation to occupational groups.
The latest group includes officers from all three branches of Pakistan’s Armed Forces, reflecting the participation of military personnel in the competitive civil service selection process.
The FPSC said it had taken due care to ensure the accuracy of the recommendations. However, the commission reserved the right to correct any errors or omissions in the results at any stage.
The latest recommendations mark the completion of another stage in the CSS 2025 recruitment process for Armed Forces officers, with the selected candidates now set to proceed through the relevant formalities for induction into their respective civil service groups.
