The government has announced that it will accept Hajj applications on the token of passport for intending Hajis whose passports have not yet been issued. However, the applicant must submit an original passport by May 18.
According to details, the Religious Affairs Ministry has permitted Hajj applicants to submit their applications for the annual pilgrimage to Mecca for the performance of Hajj using tokens obtained from the passport office for the issuance of their passports.
However, the ministry has instructed applicants that they must submit their original passports by May 18. If they do not submit their original passports by May 18, their applications will be rejected by the ministry.
The ministry has also requested Hajj applications from children as young as 12 years old, subject to Saudi government approval.
The Religious Affairs Ministry has asked Hajj applicants to submit their applications to various commercial bank branches by May 13. After a draw on May 15, the lucky applicants will be able to perform the Hajj.
