The pizza chain shared the message across its official social media accounts on August 13, addressing Pakistan directly and saying it had been an honor to serve customers in the country.
What the Message Actually Says
The post reads: “Dear Pakistan, it has been an honour to serve you — but on your 79th birthday, we’re sad to say goodbye.” The company closed the message with “Apka Apna Papa Johns Pakistan,” but offered no further explanation of what the goodbye refers to, and did not say whether it plans to close its restaurants permanently, exit the Pakistani market entirely, or make some other significant change to its local operations.
Not Yet Confirmation of a Shutdown
Given the lack of detail, the post shouldn’t be treated as confirmation that Papa Johns is shutting down in Pakistan. The company’s Pakistani website remains fully operational, continuing to display its menu, online ordering system, rewards program, and restaurant locator as normal. Papa Johns International also still lists Pakistan among the Asian markets where the global pizza chain maintains a presence.

Papa Johns entered the Pakistani market with its first restaurant in Lahore in 2019 and has expanded its footprint in the country since then. The brand’s official LinkedIn page currently identifies Lahore as its Pakistan headquarters.
