Islamabad — The federal government has once again extended an invitation to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for political talks, reaffirming that negotiation remains the only path to resolving the country’s ongoing political tensions.
The fresh offer emerged from a meeting between National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and PTI leader Aamir Dogar, also attended by Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry.
Government Says It’s Open to PTI’s Preferred Venue
Speaking to media after the meeting, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said the government had communicated its willingness to hold talks at whichever venue within Parliament House PTI proposes.
He said the ball is now in PTI’s court, adding that the government is waiting to hear back from the opposition.
The minister also noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had earlier invited the opposition leader to hold dialogue, but no response has been received so far.
Government Frames Dialogue as Only Viable Path
Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said he hopes PTI will take the renewed invitation seriously, reiterating that negotiation remains the only realistic way to address the country’s political challenges.
He said the government continues to view meaningful dialogue as essential to resolving political differences and steering the country toward greater stability.
As of now, PTI has not issued a public response to the latest invitation.
