Lahore/Kasur — In a bid to highlight the fight against drug trafficking and promote community awareness, Mir Hadi Abbas, businessman and Founder/CEO of The Asian Mirror, along with Advocate Junaid Khan and Advocate Iftikhar Ch met with Lt Col (rtd) Masood Hayat, Additional Director, Anti-Narcotics Force, Kasur Station earlier this week.
The meeting took place at the ANF Kasur office and focused on the growing challenge of narcotics in Punjab and the role of media in supporting law enforcement efforts.
Speaking after the meeting, Mir Hadi Abbas said that The Asian Mirror is committed to using journalism as a tool for public good.
“Drug abuse is destroying families and the future of our youth. Media must partner with institutions like ANF to spread awareness, expose traffickers, and promote rehabilitation. We want to tell the stories of officers on the frontlines and also the stories of recovery.”
Lt Col (etd) Masood Hayat briefed about ANF Kasur’s recent operations, challenges at border and transit routes, and ongoing awareness campaigns in schools and colleges. He appreciated the media’s role in highlighting the issue responsibly.
“Narcotics control is not just ANF’s job. It needs media, civil society, and citizens together. Platforms like The Asian Mirror can help us reach every household with the message: Say No To Drugs.”
Both sides discussed possible collaboration, including: Awareness campaigns on drug prevention in schools and universities Ground reports on ANF operations and rehabilitation centres Editorial series featuring stories of victims, survivors, and officers.
The meeting ended with a commitment to work together to amplify anti-narcotics messaging across Punjab.
