PTI politician and ex-adviser PM’s Dr. Shahbaz Gill was hit by a driver who was detained by police on Friday, throwing out charges of a “organised attempt to target” him.
According to the police, the car had been hired out to Wajahat Ali by its owner, Tahir Nazeer, a Muridke resident, when the accident occurred on the highway a day earlier.
After he saw Gill exit the vehicle, driver Wajahat Ali fled the scene, according to police reports.
Incident occurred because of Wajahat Ali’s incompetence and there was no deliberate intent to hurt Shahbaz Gill, police stated.
“When the incident was first reported, Gill attempted to portray it as a murder attempt and spread misinformation about it. It can be concluded that the accident occurred after the driver’s interrogation and study of the crash site “they informed me.
The Muridke police added that Wajahat Ali was being transferred to the Hafizabad police because of jurisdictional and investigational concerns.
In an automobile accident near Sheikhupura’s Khanqah Dogran Interchange, Dr. Shahbaz Gill had minor injuries the day before. The tragedy occurred while Gill was driving from Lahore to Islamabad.
According to the PTI leader, a car chased and intentionally rammed his car in an effort to murder him.
Shehbaz Sharif later ordered an investigation into the accident that left PTI leader injured after his vehicle slammed into a tree after it was allegedly struck by another vehicle.
The Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement that the probe should ensure that the prerequisites of justice are met.
