Pakistan’s Election Commission has rejected the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s petition in the Gilanis’ disqualification case.
The Election Commission announced on Friday that former prime minister and senior PPP leader Yousaf Raza Gilani would remain a senator despite the dismissal of petitions filed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to challenge his election.
According to the ECP’s ruling, the commission in the Yousaf Raza Gilani case was not provided with correct facts. Twenty hearings were held, and 12 hearings were adjourned, in this case.
This case hasn’t been on hold for more than a month yet.
Ali Haider Gilani, on the other hand, has been ordered by the district election commissioner to file a criminal complaint against him.
Ali Haider, Faheem Khan, and Captain Jamil were ordered by the ECP to be investigated for corruption.
Farrukh Habib, Maleeka Bokhari, Kanwal Shauzab, and Aliya Hamza had petitioned the commission on behalf of the PTI.
