Pakistani actress Uzma Tahir has publicly criticised actor Danish Taimoor, saying that fame and success have introduced arrogance into his personality.
Speaking in a recent television interview, Uzma Tahir discussed the behaviour of actors in the entertainment industry and reflected on how professional success can sometimes change personal attitudes.
Her comments have sparked discussion within Pakistan’s showbiz circles, where debates over seniority, respect, and workplace culture remain ongoing.
“Fame Can Change Behaviour”
During the interview, Uzma Tahir said she has not actively worked in television dramas for nearly a decade. She shared memories from her early career and said the industry environment was more rigid for newcomers at that time.
She said junior actors were often expected to maintain distance from senior performers, adding that such practices still exist in parts of the industry today.
According to her, hierarchical behaviour on sets remains visible, from seating arrangements to separate meal setups for senior and junior artists.
Uzma Tahir said these practices reflect an outdated system that still influences workplace culture in drama productions.
Remarks About Danish Taimur
While speaking about industry behaviour, she directly referred to Danish Taimur and said she believes “a little ego” has entered his personality after gaining fame.
She recalled his early career struggles and said she had witnessed his journey from the beginning.

“With apologies, when you entered this field, you did not even have an FX vehicle and used to come by bus for shows,” she said during the interview, highlighting how far she believes he has come in his career.
Uzma Tahir added that success should not change how individuals treat colleagues who supported or worked alongside them during their early days in the industry.
She stressed that respect and humility are important traits, particularly in professions where public recognition grows quickly.
Call for Respectful Industry Culture
The actress said senior artists should remain approachable and treat junior staff and co-actors with kindness, regardless of their status or success.
She emphasised that the entertainment industry should encourage a more balanced and respectful working environment rather than reinforcing rigid hierarchies.
Her remarks come at a time when discussions around workplace behaviour in Pakistan’s entertainment industry continue to surface on social media and television talk shows.
Industry observers say such conversations often highlight tensions between evolving professional standards and traditional set cultures that have existed for decades.
Praise for Sadaf Kanwal
During the same interview, Uzma Tahir also praised model and actress Sadaf Kanwal, saying her personality and attitude align well with her own.
She said she appreciates people who remain grounded despite success and public attention.
Uzma Tahir’s comments have drawn mixed reactions online, with some users agreeing with her views on humility in the industry, while others defended Danish Taimur, calling his professionalism consistent throughout his career.
As of now, Danish Taimur has not issued any public response to the remarks.
