Jemima Goldsmith Engagement: Who Is Financier Cameron O’Reilly?

After years of maintaining a relatively private personal life, Jemima Goldsmith is reportedly preparing for a new beginning.

The British journalist and filmmaker, best known globally as the former wife of Imran Khan, is said to be engaged to financier and investor Cameron O’Reilly, according to international media reports.

The couple has reportedly been in a relationship for just over a year and has been splitting time between O’Reilly’s residence in Switzerland and Goldsmith’s home in West London.

Sources cited in British media suggest the wedding is expected to take place in Switzerland in the coming weeks.

Who Is Cameron O’Reilly?

Cameron O’Reilly, 62, is an Irish-Australian multi-millionaire investor with a background in technology, software, and smart-metering ventures. He is the son of the late Sir Anthony O’Reilly, a prominent media tycoon and former international rugby player.

In 2003, O’Reilly founded private equity firm Bayard Capital, where he served as chief executive. The firm was later sold to Toshiba in 2011 in a deal reported to be worth approximately $2.3 billion.

In recent years, he has transitioned into creative work, serving as an executive producer on documentaries and films—an industry connection through which he is believed to have met Goldsmith.

O’Reilly is already a father of four children from previous relationships.

A New Chapter After Loss and Public Scrutiny

News of the engagement comes less than a year after the death of Goldsmith’s mother, Lady Annabel Goldsmith, who passed away at the age of 91 in October last year. Jemima is also the daughter of the late billionaire financier Sir James Goldsmith, placing her among one of Britain’s most prominent families.

Goldsmith was married to Imran Khan from 1995 to 2004, and the former couple share two sons. Despite their divorce, she has remained a visible public figure, particularly through her journalism, political commentary, and film production work.

Public Reaction

Reaction to reports of the engagement has been largely positive, with many well-wishers congratulating Goldsmith on her new chapter.

Some, however, have expressed mild surprise at the pace of the relationship, with one reader commenting that marrying after a year is “very fast”, while still wishing the couple well.

If confirmed, the marriage would mark Goldsmith’s first remarriage since her high-profile divorce and signal a quieter, more private phase of life away from political controversy and constant media attention.
