The Lollywood film Psycho trailer has officially been released, immediately drawing attention for its intense storyline, psychological depth, and powerful performances from a star-studded Pakistani cast.
The upcoming film Psycho is being positioned as a thriller-drama that explores mental health, perception, and human behavior, setting it apart from conventional commercial cinema in Pakistan.
Shaan Shahid leads and directs the film
Actor and filmmaker Shaan Shahid plays a dual role in the project as both lead actor and director. Speaking at a press briefing, he described the film as more than just a narrative, calling it an exploration of the human mind and emotional complexity.
He added that the goal was to create cinema that goes beyond entertainment and engages audiences on an intellectual and psychological level.
Meera shares emotional experience during filming
Actress Meera revealed that her role in the film was emotionally demanding. In a conversation with Samaa TV, she said it took her considerable time to detach from the character and that the experience had a strong psychological impact.
She added that she focused on deeply understanding the character’s emotional background to deliver a realistic performance and expressed hope that audiences would appreciate her work in this film.

Producer Suleman Ahmed Butt said the project combines entertainment with social awareness and has been designed using modern cinematography and visual effects aimed at international standards.

The film’s teaser was previously showcased at London’s O2 Arena, marking an early international promotional milestone for the project.
Psycho is scheduled for worldwide release on May 27, 2026, coinciding with Eid-ul-Azha.
A special press briefing was held in Lahore where the trailer was screened for media representatives, with cast members and production teams in attendance.

During the media interaction, Shaan Shahid also spoke about broader national concerns, including ongoing load shedding challenges affecting the public.
He noted that while Pakistan continues to face internal difficulties, the country’s global image is improving amid shifting geopolitical developments, expressing optimism about Pakistan’s international perception.
