On Thursday, a bomb was detonated near a tower housing 220,000-volt power transmission lines in Jamshoro.
One of the four pillars of the high-voltage transmission tower, which connects Jamshoro with Tando Muhammad Khan, was blown up in the blast, according to reliable sources at 24NewsHD.
According to Zulfiqar Solangi, Superintendent Engineer of National Transmission and Despatch Company, “the tower, however, survived the attack because it did not collapse and the power supply was also not disrupted” (NTDC).
Damage could be catastrophic if high-voltage power transmission lines were to fall down. Because of the strong tower’s construction, passenger trains traveling on the main railway line were spared damage.
Arriving on the scene were officers and agents from various law enforcement agencies. Additionally, a bomb-disposal team was summoned.
