Track and Trace system caused marked increase in sugar production

The ‘track and trace system’ installed in sugar mills has begun to produce the desired results, as it has increased the mills’ production.

According to the channel’s sources, sugar production increased by 1.9 million tonnes from last year’s 58, 60, 000 tonnes to 79, 67,000 tonnes this year.

At the same time, sources said, the country’s unregistered sugar production had begun to decline.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has taken action against mills that have not installed the system 60 times.
