LAHORE — The Pakistan Cricket Board has served a show-cause notice on Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah for alleged violations of the board’s central contract, media policy and regulatory framework, the PCB confirmed on Wednesday.
According to an official statement, the notice has been issued under the PCB’s disciplinary rules, which require centrally contracted players to strictly adhere to professional conduct standards and media guidelines.
The board said Naseem Shah has been asked to submit a formal written response within the specified deadline. Any decision regarding disciplinary action will be taken only after his reply is received and thoroughly reviewed.
The PCB did not disclose specific details of the alleged breaches but emphasized that compliance with contractual obligations is non-negotiable.
“The Pakistan Cricket Board is committed to maintaining discipline, safeguarding the integrity of the game and ensuring that all players meet the professional standards expected of them,” the statement said.
Naseem Shah, a key member of Pakistan’s pace attack across formats, has not publicly commented on the notice so far.
The move reflects the PCB’s broader efforts to enforce discipline within the national setup, as the board continues to stress accountability, professionalism and adherence to its code of conduct.
