Samsung Galaxy S26 to Support File Sharing With iPhones via Quick Share

Samsung said its upcoming Galaxy S26 smartphone lineup will support file sharing with Apple devices through Quick Share, expanding cross-platform interoperability previously limited to select Android phones.

The feature, which allows direct file transfers between Android and Apple devices, was first introduced by Google on its Pixel 10 series in November 2025. It was later extended to older Pixel models and, earlier this year, to smartphones made by Oppo.

Samsung said Quick Share compatibility with Apple’s AirDrop ecosystem will arrive via a software update for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra, marking the first time the company’s flagship phones will offer native file-sharing support with Apple devices.

The rollout will begin in South Korea before expanding to Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan. Samsung did not provide a timeline for availability on older or lower-priced Galaxy models, though it said further expansion is under consideration.

Once updated, users will be able to activate the feature through the Settings app by navigating to Connected Devices and enabling the “Share with Apple devices” option under Quick Share.

The functionality will allow users to send and receive files directly between Android and Apple hardware without third-party apps.

Google has positioned Quick Share interoperability as a broader effort to reduce friction between Android and Apple ecosystems. Support was added to the Pixel 9 series last month, following its debut on the Pixel 10, and is now being extended to Samsung’s latest flagship devices.

Oppo has also confirmed that its Find X9 series will receive support for the feature in the near future, signaling wider adoption across Android manufacturers, though a detailed rollout schedule has yet to be announced.
