Marriyum Aurangzeb, the Minister for Information, reiterated on Monday that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will travel to Saudi Arabia on his own dime, criticising Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders for spreading “lies” about the trip, which is due to take place later this week.
“Contrary to PTI’s claims, Prime Minister will be flying to Saudi Arabia on a commercial flight at his own expense later this week,” the federal minister stated on Twitter.
“Even during his ten years as Chief Minister of Punjab, from 2008 to 2018, he always travelled commercially and on his own dime,” she continued.

Fawad Chaudhry, the former information minister, was also advised not to make any public statements “Such a false accusation against journalists, given that no member of the media was travelling to Saudi Arabia on the taxpayer’s dime.
Aurangzeb went on to remark that the former information minister’s hallmark was fake news.
She noted that when Imran Khan was in opposition, the media gave him a lot of attention, but once he got into power, he targeted and victimised them. “The PTI leadership is now smearing the media after being driven out of power in a disgusting manner.”
The information minister further stated that the PTI’s control deprived the public of inexpensive flour, sugar, medications, power, and gas, as well as destroying the economy and job chances.
Aurangzeb poked fun at Fawad over the pending issue, telling him to “tweet about the Toshakhana’s watch, necklace, and rings.”
According to the minister, everyone was now aware of the reality of his “farce of austerity,” which had resulted in the country’s largest fiscal imbalance in four years.
