Trump Orders Review and Release of Government Files on UFOs and Alien Life

US President Donald Trump on Thursday announced that he has instructed federal agencies to begin identifying and releasing government records linked to UFOs, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and possible extraterrestrial life, responding to long-standing public curiosity surrounding the subject.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said the decision was driven by widespread public interest. He stated that the review would involve the Department of War and other relevant agencies and would cover all available material connected to what he described as complex yet highly significant matters.

While he did not clarify whether classified documents would be made public, he emphasized that the process should include all related information held by the government.

Earlier in the day, Trump accused former US President Barack Obama of disclosing classified information during recent podcast remarks that gained widespread attention online.

In the interview, Obama dismissed popular conspiracy theories, saying that while unidentified objects have been observed, there is no evidence of aliens being hidden at Area 51 or in secret underground facilities.

When asked about those comments, Trump told reporters that Obama had shared information he was not authorized to reveal, calling it a serious mistake. He did not specify which part of the remarks he believed to be classified.

Speaking about his own views on extraterrestrial life, Trump said he remains uncertain about the existence of aliens, adding that he has seen no definitive proof.

The renewed focus on UFOs and UAPs comes amid increased scrutiny by US authorities in recent years, as unexplained aerial sightings raised concerns about potential foreign surveillance or advanced military technology.

The Pentagon addressed these concerns in a report released in March 2024, concluding that there was no evidence linking such phenomena to alien technology. Many sightings, the report said, were later identified as weather balloons, satellites, spy aircraft, or other conventional objects.

Despite the lack of scientific evidence confirming intelligent life beyond Earth, public fascination with UFOs continues to grow, keeping pressure on governments to be more transparent about what they know and what they do not.
