Hundred take part in rally in Chicago to condemn Israeli attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque

Hundreds of protesters marched in Chicago, Illinois, to protest Israeli raids on the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the occupied Old City of al-Quds.

On Saturday, protestors gathered near Wells and South Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago, waving Palestinian flags and carrying banners demanding that Israeli forces “remove their hands off al-Quds” and cease their daily assaults on Palestinians, according to the Palestine Official Wafa news agency.

Since the beginning of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, the Israeli authority has increased its brutal attacks on Palestinian mosque worshippers.

Israeli authorities have imposed a siege on the holy occupied city of al-Quds’ Old City, where the complex is located, in recent days, and have begun prohibiting Palestinians aged 40 to 45 from visiting the area. Meanwhile, Israeli settlers have been freely converging on the area, which is well guarded by Israeli forces.

“This is the struggle of the world’s proletariat revolutions…

We cannot remain silent when we see Zionists harming our siblings; we must speak up!” As he addressed the protesters, Alderman Byron Sigcho Lopez, a long-time supporter of the Palestinian cause, remarked.

“How long will it be before Palestinian lives matter…?” questioned Lesley Williams of Jewish Voice for Peace at the event.

“How can it be when the news reports on every single Israeli death but overlooks the tens of thousands of Palestinians who die every year?”

“We want Palestine to be free!” said Frank Chapman of the Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression to the audience. Our solidarity is unconditional; no matter how you fight in your liberation movement, we stand with you!”

“We are both diasporas who know too well the duplicity of the erstwhile coloniser states that today turn a deaf ear to our people,” Emma Lozano of Pueblo Sin Fronteras added.

Thousands of protesters have marched to the streets all around the world to protest Israeli aggression against Palestinians at the al-Aqsa Mosque and elsewhere in the occupied territories.

Since the beginning of Ramadan, the al-Aqsa Mosque compound has been at the heart of weeks of increased Israeli aggression against Palestinian pilgrims.

As a result, Israeli regime forces have killed at least 19 Palestinians, including three boys and three women, and hundreds have been injured.

Following the recent worldwide protests, Israel launched a new round of violence against Palestinians across the occupied West Bank, including al-Quds, on Friday and Saturday, in which a number of Palestinians were arrested and injured.
