The United Arab Emirates has temporarily suspended 48-hour and 96-hour transit visas for Pakistan passport holders, according to a notice posted on the VFS Global portal for Emirates visa services.
The advisory on the VFS Global website states that Pakistani nationals should not apply for short-term transit visas in these categories until further notice.
The portal does not provide a reason for the suspension or indicate how long it will last.
Impact on Travelers
Transit visas are normally issued to passengers passing through the UAE en route to other destinations, allowing short stays of up to two or four days. The temporary halt could disrupt travel plans for Pakistanis with brief stopovers in Dubai or other UAE cities.
No separate announcement has yet been issued by UAE authorities regarding this policy change. Travelers are advised to monitor official channels, including the Emirates airline website and the VFS Global UAE portal, for updates before planning their trips.
