Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah was picked up by the Rawalpindi franchise for Rs. 8.65 crore during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) player auction at Lahore’s Expo Center.
The 22-year-old pacer emerged as one of the most in-demand players in the fast-bowling category, attracting intense bidding from multiple franchises eager to secure a proven new-ball specialist.
Rawalpindi eventually won the bidding war, significantly strengthening their pace attack with a bowler renowned for his ability to strike early and deliver under pressure in T20 cricket. Naseem’s inclusion reflects the franchise’s clear intent to build a formidable bowling unit centred around raw pace and domestic star power.

Currently, Naseem Shah is part of Pakistan’s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, being jointly hosted by Sri Lanka and India, further underlining his value as a frontline international performer.
His signing follows another major development in the fast-bowling market, with Lahore Qalandars securing Haris Rauf for Rs. 7.60 crore, following his impressive performances in the 2025–26 Big Bash League (BBL 15).
Other notable acquisitions during the auction included Faheem Ashraf joining Islamabad United, David Warner being snapped up by Karachi Kings, and Rilee Rossouw moving to Quetta Gladiators. In a surprising turn, Quetta did not place a bid for their former captain Saud Shakeel, who remained unsold.
