KP Government Launches Laptop Scheme for Blind and Visually Impaired Students

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has launched a laptop distribution scheme for blind and visually impaired students enrolled in recognized educational institutions across the province.

The initiative aims to promote digital inclusion and academic support for students with visual disabilities by improving their access to technology.

Eligibility Criteria for KP Laptop Scheme

According to official details, the scheme is open to:

  • Blind and visually impaired students studying in recognized colleges, universities, or madrasas

  • Applicants who are permanent residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

  • Students holding a valid disability certificate issued by the Social Welfare Department

Online Application and Merit-Based Selection

The KP government will receive applications through an online Management Information System (MIS) form. Authorities stated that:

  • Laptops will be distributed strictly on merit

  • Distribution will be subject to the availability of funds

  • Priority will be given to students with strong academic performance and relevant skills
