An Army Major was martyred while valiantly attempting to thwart a terrorist attack on a security forces post in Balochistan’s Awaran district.
According to a statement released by the ISPR on Friday, terrorists raided a security forces post in the general area of Kahan, near Awaran in Balochistan, on the night of April 21/22.
After successfully repelling the raid, the evacuees were pursued into nearby mountains. A heavy exchange of fire occurred between terrorists and security forces at one of the blocking positions established to cut off fleeing terrorists.
Major Shahid Basheer, a valiant son of the soil, embraced Shahadat and another soldier was injured during the skirmish, which resulted in heavy losses for the terrorists.
Security forces, in lockstep with the nation, remained resolute in their efforts to thwart attempts to undermine Balochistan’s peace, stability, and progress.
