This year, 81,132 Pakistanis will be blessed with the opportunity to perform the obligatory Hajj, as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced the annual Islamic pilgrimage quota for various countries around the world.
According to the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Indonesia received the largest quota, followed by Pakistan, which will allow 81,132 people to perform Hajj this year.
The Saudi Hajj Ministry has published a list of countries and their respective quota allocations.
The Saudi government has allowed foreigners to perform Hajj after a two-year period during which the KSA government banned Hajj pilgrims from all over the world due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Saudi Arabia restricted the annual pilgrimage to its citizens and residents last year and capped it at 60,000 pilgrims due to the pandemic.
Hajj, a once-in-a-lifetime obligation on the part of every capable Muslim who can afford it, is a significant source of revenue for the Saudi government.
Meanwhile, Abdul-Rahman Al-Sudais, President of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Holy Mosques, has announced that Tahajjud’s prayers in Masjidul Haram will begin at 12:45 a.m.
