PM Shehbaz Sharif’s 34-member cabinet takes oath

The 34-member federal cabinet of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was sworn in on Tuesday at a grand ceremony in Aiwan-i-Sadr.

Acting President Sadiq Sanjrani swore in the 34-member federal cabinet, which included 31 federal ministers and three ministers of state.

President Dr. Arif Alvi had approved their appointment as federal ministers.

Furthermore, the president approved the appointment of Dr. Aisha Ghaus Pasha, Hina Rabbani Khar, and Abdul Rehman Khan Kanju as ministers of state, and the acting president administered the oath to them.

President Arif Alvi also approved the appointment of Qamar Zaman Kaira, Engr Amir Muqam, and Aun Chaudhry as prime minister’s advisors.

It should be noted that the 14 federal ministers are from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), and the Jamhoori Watan Party.

It is also worth noting that the PPP’s Khurshid Shah will be in charge of Water and Power, Naveed Qamar of Commerce, Sherry Rehman of Climate Change, and Abdul Qadir Patel of National Health.

Shazia Marri will also be in charge of the Benazir Income Support Programme, Murtaza Mahmud Industries, and Sajid Hussain Turi Overseas Pakistanis.

Similarly, Abid Hussain Bhayo will be appointed as Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination, and Ehsan-ur-Rehman Mazari will be appointed as Federal Minister for Privatisation.

Hina Rabbani Khar will be Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar will be Minister of State for Law.
