Speaking Truth to Oppressed

Sardar Tanveer Ilyas likely to become new AJK PM

Today, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, a member of the PTI party, is likely to be elected as the new prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Opposition parties like the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have said they will not vote in the election.

The president of the AJK has called an assembly meeting today to choose a new prime minister.

The meeting will start at 10:30 am in the Legislative Assembly Hall in Muzaffarabad.

If there are 53 parliamentarians, there must be at least 27 votes in order for you to win.

There are 32 votes for the PTI. The PPP and the PML-N each have 12 and 7 votes.

People should know that the prime minister’s office has been empty since Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi, who was the leader of AJK, resigned.
