In response to former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s speech at the party’s rally in Peshawar yesterday, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Thursday that Imran should keep in mind that he had committed a grave offense, which was a violation of the constitution.
“You held 22 million Pakistanis and the country’s constitution hostage for days, and you deserve to be punished under article 6,” she said.
In response to the former prime minister’s question at a Peshawar rally about what wrong he had done that the courts were unexpectedly unlocked on the night of April 10 and 11, Marriyum said the courts wanted you to follow their orders. “This was done to remind you that the country would be governed solely in accordance with the constitution, not according to your whims and wishes,” she continued.
Instead of being bellicose and threatening, a PML-N spokesperson urged the PTI chairman to seek forgiveness from the nation for his “sins.”
She predicted that in the coming days, more corruption allegations against the PTI government would surface. “You looted people for four years, depriving them of sugar, wheat flour, medicines, electricity, and gas.” This is your crime,” Marriyum said, adding that while people were committing suicide as a result of inflation and load shedding, you continued to lecture the country.
PTI, she continued, was exposed in the foreign funding case. “You defrauded Pakistan’s Election Commission by concealing millions of dollars and billions of rupees” (ECP). She claimed, “This is your crime.”
