Muhammad Ali Randhawa (PAS) and Sumair Ahmed Syed (PAS) have been appointed as Principal Staff Officers (PSO) to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Muhammad Ali Randhawa was the director-general of Excise and Taxation in Punjab and the Interior Secretary in Gilgit Baltistan, while Sumair Ahmed Syed was the deputy commissioner of Lahore.
Furthermore, DIG Humayun Bashir Tarar, a grade-20 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has been directed to report to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Waseem Ahmed, a Section Officer with the Education Division, has been promoted to Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office.
The establishment division has been notified of the transfers and postings.
Shehbaz Sharif had already appointed Dr. Syed Tauqeer Hussain Shah (BPS-21) as his Principal Secretary. Shah graduated from the 18th Common batch of civil servants in 1991.
Shah previously worked as Shehbaz Sharif’s principal secretary when he was Punjab’s chief minister.
Shehbaz Sharif has also requested a meeting of the High Powered Selection Board at the end of April to promote bureaucrats from grade-21 to grade-22. The important High Powered Selection Board did not meet in 2021.
The High Powered Selection Board held its final meeting on October 20th, 2020.
Previously, Dr. Muhammad Suhail Rajput, Secretary of Information Technology, was appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Sindh after Mumtaz Ali Shah retired on March 31.
