One person died and over 80 others were injured after ammonia gas leaked from a cylinder at a scrap yard near the Gujranwala service station in Hafizabad.
Rescue 1122 personnel responded to the shop after learning of the incident and transported those injured to the district headquarters hospital.
They later disposed of the cylinder, a move that could have resulted in a major catastrophe in the city.
