A 70-year-old man was critically burned Monday after being set on fire by a suspect over a monetary dispute in Lalian tehsil, Chiniot.
“The incident occurred in the Muhammadwala police precincts,” according to police.
“Sultan was identified as the injured. Over a monetary dispute, a suspect named Wajid poured gasoline on him and set him on fire. “An arrest warrant has been issued for the accused,” they added.
“Sultan was transferred to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital, where doctors referred him to Allied Hospital, Faisalabad due to the THQ hospital’s lack of a burn unit,” they said.
