Former foreign minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi suggested on Sunday that Imran Khan launch a mass contact campaign.
It’s Shehbaz vs. Qureshi as the National Assembly chooses a new Prime Minister tomorrow. “It’s better to compete with the next government in parliament,” he said, dismissing reports of PTI lawmakers resigning.
According to the former foreign minister, Imran Khan will decide the fate of the party’s parliamentarians.
“Imran Khan will decide on resignations, and everyone will accept it,” he said.
“These people have no mandate from the people, but they are imposed on us,” Qureshi said.
According to Shah Mehmood Qureshi, “Imran Khan has directed all those elected on the PTI ticket to participate in the election for PM.”
Qureshi stated that the defected members did not vote out of fear and that they were served with show-cause notices.
Qureshi’s colleague Fawad Chaudhry, on the other hand, claimed that the party’s MNAs will resign en masse on Monday.

“Today, the party’s core committee met under Imran Khan’s chairmanship,” he said on a private news channel programme.
He stated that, in addition to finalizing his name as the PTI’s candidate for Prime Minister against Shehbaz Sharif, it was also discussed whether the party should remain in the National Assembly under the current circumstances.

“A discussion was held on this subject, but no final decision was reached.” The former prime minister has decided to convene the party’s parliamentary committee tomorrow at 12 p.m. The views of those who have stood by him during these trying times will be sought. Following that meeting, a final decision will be made.”
When asked what the party’s dominant opinion was on the resignations, Qureshi said, “Whatever Imran Khan wants will happen.” He will make the decision, and whatever he decides will be accepted by everyone.
“However, ours is a democratic party, and Imran Khan listens to everyone’s viewpoint before making a decision.” In my opinion, and based on what I’ve learned during discussions, a clear majority of party members believe we should protest inside the assembly as well as make contact with the public outside.”
He stated that if Khan decides to resign, the party’s “ideological members would accept and tender resignations whenever requested.”
