TikToker Samiya Hijab and ‘kidnapper’ Hassan Zahid reach settlement.

In a surprising development in the kidnapping and torture case, TikToker Samiya Hijab and suspect Hassan Zahid have reportedly reached a settlement, according to sources.

The agreement, however, could not be formally presented in court due to the adjournment of the suspect’s bail hearing today.

Bail applications filed in court

Hassan Zahid has filed bail applications in both cases registered against him. The applications were heard in the court of Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mahmood Chaudhry at the District and Sessions Courts, Islamabad.

The court issued notices to the parties involved. However, plaintiff Samiya Hijab did not appear during Saturday’s proceedings, leading to the adjournment of the hearing until September 15.

According to sources, Samiya Hijab and Hassan Zahid have reached a settlement, under which Samiya is expected to file her affidavit and record statement in court.

The settlement could not be submitted today as no formal hearing took place on the bail applications. The agreement is likely to be placed on record during the next court session.

Charges of kidnapping

The Shalimar Police have registered multiple cases against Hassan Zahid under charges of kidnapping, issuing threats, and other relevant sections of the law.

Earlier this month, the popular TikToker alleged that a young man from Lahore attempted to kidnap her after she rejected his marriage proposal, further claiming he has been threatening to kill her for the past three months.

In a video statement shared on social media, Hijab described the alleged encounter, saying the man had been persistently pressuring her to marry him.

“First he used to tell me to marry him. I rejected his proposal, but he kept following me,” she said.

According to Hijab, the situation escalated when the man arrived outside her home while her mother was ill and her brother was away.

She claimed he tried to snatch her phone, forced her towards his car, and attempted to take her away. “I also have a recording of this,” she added.

A day later, the Islamabad Police confirmed Zahid’s arrest after Samiya’s complaint and video statement went viral. A case was registered under sections 354, 365, 392, 500, 509, and 511 of the Pakistan Penal Code — covering charges of harassment, attempted abduction, and assault.

A police spokesperson said investigators were collecting further evidence, including CCTV footage, and assured that “strict legal action” would be taken to ensure the influencer’s safety.
