Unregistered mobiles to be blocked across Pakistan.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has launched a fresh campaign to stop the misuse of unregistered mobile phones, warning that all such devices will soon be blocked from service.
The authority has given users a limited window to register their devices and avoid potential disruption.
PTA issues strict warning
According to PTA, citizens still using unregistered mobile phones must act quickly. The regulator has cautioned that unregistered devices will not only be blocked from mobile networks but may also expose their owners to serious legal consequences.

Officials highlighted that mobile registration is crucial for user safety and for protecting national security.
National security and fraud risks
The PTA has linked unregistered devices to several risks, including:
- Threats to national security.
- Use in financial fraud and cybercrimes.
- Illegal trade and circulation of devices that bypass safety checks.
Citizens have been urged to avoid both buying and selling unregistered mobile phones, as the practice is considered a punishable offence.
Limited time to register
The authority reminded mobile users that time is running out. Those who fail to register their devices will face service disruptions, with their handsets permanently blocked from operating on Pakistani networks.
“Register your device today to avoid blocking and disruption,” the PTA warned in its official statement.
