PM dissolved assembly to hide his corruption, says Abbasi

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, a former prime minister, and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader claimed Tuesday that President Arif Alvi dissolved the National Assembly (NA) solely to conceal Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ‘corruption.’

Speaking to reporters outside an accountability court (AC) in Islamabad, he stated that the country’s constitution had been violated and that Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Arif Alvi were behind this ‘conspiracy’.

He continued by stating that previous military dictators violated the constitution. “However, that is now being done by the so-called elected representatives of the people,” he lamented.

Abbasi stated that the entire nation was now waiting for the Supreme Court to rule on the constitutionality of the NA deputy speaker’s ruling, in which he threw out the opposition’s no-trust motion, claiming it was funded by foreign sources.

The PML-N leader even demanded the president, prime minister, deputy speaker, and others be charged with treason.
