Honour killing continues in Pakistan

In Sargodha on Wednesday, a man shot dead his wife and nephew in an “honor killing” because he feared the two were having an illicit connection.

In relation to the deceased – Asif and Asya – the accused, Saifullah, was their uncle and spouse.

Both of the accused managed to flee the crime site after being shot.

First, he shot and killed his nephew as he approached his brother’s house, where his nephew was already present. Then he returned home and murdered his wife since the two were having an extramarital affair.

The victims’ family members have not confirmed the allegation, claiming that the deaths were the result of a marital disagreement.

Police arrived on the scene and shifted the bodies for post-mortem examination and further investigation.

The event occurred on the premises of Sargodha’s Sterlite Town Police Station.

Dr. Rizwan Ahmed Khan, the DPO of Sargodha, took notice of the occurrence and asked the police squad to pursue the fugitive murderer.

He also requested a report from Sargodha’s SDPO (City).

Local forensic and crime scene investigators arrived and collected evidence from the crime scene.

Local police teams have been formed to apprehend the suspects.
