After an ‘exchange of fire between the police and ‘dacoits’ in Karachi’s Bin Qasim neighborhood on Monday, an alleged ‘dacoit’ was arrested in an injured state, while his two accomplices managed to flee.
The bullets fired by the dacoits allegedly pierced the police van, according to the authorities. Fortunately, the cops inside were unharmed.
Unlicensed firearms were also found from the injured dacoit, Khalid s/o Khadim, who was sent to the hospital for treatment, according to the Force.
According to police, Khalid’s criminal history is being investigated, and raids are being carried out to apprehend his co-conspirators.
Three suspects were arrested in an injured condition following an ‘encounter’ with police under the jurisdiction of Iqbal Market police station in Orangi Town, authorities said, while two firearms and a stolen motorcycle were also confiscated from them.
According to accounts, one of the suspects was injured after being shot by a gunshot, while the other two were beaten up by ordinary people.
For treatment, they were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Four ‘outlaws’ were held in an injured condition in another police ‘encounter’ in the city, this time in Bhains Colony, while firearms, motorcycles, and cash were recovered from their hands.
The injured dacoits were transferred to Jinnah Hospital, police said, and their criminal records were reviewed to see if they had been involved in additional crimes.
