Good news for Mathematics teachers

Saturday holiday announced for government teachers in Punjab

A good news for mathematics teachers, the School Education Department has announced promotions for those holding BS and MSc degrees in math-related fields.

According to a notification issued by the department’s Equivalence Committee, a BS degree in Mathematics will now be recognized as a 16-year qualification for promotion purposes.

Moreover, teachers with a two-year MSc in Computational Mathematics will also be eligible for promotions.

The same policy applies to those holding two-year MSc degrees in Applied or Pure Mathematics.

Earlier, teachers specializing in mathematics were not included in departmental promotion lists, leaving many waiting for career advancement for nearly a decade.

Kashif Shehzad, Provincial President of the Punjab Teachers Union (PTU), welcomed the decision but urged the government to extend the same recognition to BS degree holders in other subjects as well, ensuring fair treatment for all disciplines.
