A man has survived the tragic Air India crash that claimed the lives of at least 200 people, according to reports.
Reports quoted Ahmedabad Police Commissioner GS Malik as saying that there was one confirmed survivor.
He was seated in 11A on the London-bound Boeing 787-8 flight.
According to the flight manifest released by authorities, the seat was assigned to Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, a British national.
Indian media outlets reported speaking to Mr. Ramesh at the hospital, where he recounted the harrowing experience: “Thirty seconds after take-off, there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed. It all happened so quickly,” he said.
Media also reported that Mr. Ramesh shared his boarding pass, confirming his identity and seat number.
Air India stated that the flight was carrying 169 Indian nationals, 53 British citizens, seven Portuguese nationals, and one Canadian.
